Site Re-launched
Greetings
Finally, the site runs on the latest version of Joomla (currently 1.7). It took me quite some time to customize the "out-of-the-box" template to meet my needs.
Actually, I'm quite happy with the layout and color scheme. Also, some new feature have been integrated, such as a comment sytsem with Facebook Login.
In case you're interested, here's the listing of the plugions/components the site is currently using :
- J2XML (Tool to migrate articles from 1.5 to 1.6/1.7 Joomla)
- JCE (The best Editor)
- Simple Wiki Linker (Link directly to Wikipedia
- Akeeba Backup
- Addthis (Social Bookmarks, but currently disabled -> broken)
- Feedgator (Imports latest collection items)
- J! Analytics (Sends Data to my Google Analytics Account)
- Jsocial Comments (the above mentionned commenting system)
- Homepage Slideshow (The Slideshow seen on the first page)
- BO:VideoJs (used to display HTML5 Videos in the Gallery)
- Simple Image Gallery Extended (displays Pictures in the Gallery)

...on the new Site.
Finally i have opted to use Joomla, with a nice free template from techline.de
Now it is just waiting to be filled with content.
Still to do :
- Finish Menu Layouts
- Fill empty pages
- Stuff i am probably not thinking of (yet)
