Atari VCS 2600 Joystick Micro Switch Mod.
In this gallery we’ll see how to modify an old Atari Joystick for improved game play. The old switches tend to stop working , and had to be replaced with modern micro “click” switches.
You’ll need about 5 micro Switches (about 4mm height), something to cut and of course a soldering iron. Reichelt.de is selling them for ~ 0.2€ /piece
We need to cut some plastic from the joystick to make room for the new switches , as they use ~3mm more space.
These new switches breathe new life in this joystick.
Now you’re in control, not the joystick anymore 😉
